The Attractiveness of Coal Stocks Amid Soaring Commodity Prices
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Coal commodity prices continued to soar to almost touch the level of USD 180 per ton, supported by seasonal factors ahead of winter and the reopening of the economy which pushed up demand and delayed coal supply. However, the increase in coal prices, said Head of Investment & Research BNI AM, Yekti Dewanti, will normalize in line with the improvement in supply and return to normal demand.
However, the increase in coal prices was not reflected in the increase in the share prices of coal issuers in line with the ESG (Environmental, Social and Good Governance) sentiment related to the use of clean energy so that investors tended to hold back from entering this sector.
