SEMARANG - BNI Asset Management (BNI AM) cooperates with financial technology (Fintech) and online platform securities, marketing mutual funds targeting millennials.

According to the Director of Investment and OPR - BNI Asset Management Putut Andanawarih, millennials are currently aware of investment seedlings so that growth is quite high. "The growth of this millennial investor is very high, in terms of the number of funds it is still small," said Putut during a conversation with reporters in Semarang.

For this reason, his party cooperates not only with banks, but also with securities companies that have online platforms, and fintech which is a mutual fund selling agent. The goal is to make it easier for this investment product to target the younger generation.

"We put our products in fintech companies, there are about five that we collaborate with. With this fintech, the user experience can be fulfilled and easier. The investment starts at IDR 100,000 and can be done only with a smartphone," he explained.

Although the contribution is still small, he continued, in the long term, this investment for millennials of productive age will last a long time. "The hope is that mutual funds can be an attractive alternative or investment, besides that people are aware of investment and are not deceived by fake investments that offer low-interest rates and high profits," he explained.

Meanwhile, if you look at the current capital market, it still depends on the role of other countries. Foreign investors will leave if the economic and political conditions in Indonesia are unstable, like yesterday's election. "If there are many investors from Indonesia, the economy will be stronger. So if foreigners leave, we don't need to worry," said Putut.

To note, Asset Under Management (AUM) BNI Asset Management (BNI-AM) reached IDR 22.29 trillion as of August 2019 or grew 38.53% this year. This value is higher than at the end of 2018 which was Rp. 16.09 trillion.
