Through the Jakarta-Bandung Marathon, BNI Helps Raise Endowment Funds for ITB

Bandung - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia Arcandra Tahar participated in the 2018 BNI ITB Ultra Marathon competition by being runners in the 10K and 5K categories on Sunday (14/10/2018) morning.
This running competition is a momentum for the entire Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) academic community to love their campus by investing their money in mutual fund products specifically designed to raise Endowment Funds for the future development of ITB.
This is also a rare opportunity for the public to obtain electronic money products specially produced by BNI to enliven this spectacular running competition, namely the BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2018 Edition TapCash Card.
On this occasion, BNI assisted ITB in collecting, managing, and developing endowment funds (sustainable funds), because as a legal entity university, ITB must be more independent in finding its funding sources. This endowment fund was collected from the ITB academic community, especially ITB alumni and enthusiasm. The endowment fund jointly developed by BNI and ITB is in the form of a mutual fund named ITB Harmoni BNI AM Mutual Fund which is managed by PT BNI Asset Management which is a subsidiary of BNI.
"Since 1968 BNI has been at ITB. It is an honor for BNI to be a part of the ITB Ultra Marathon," said BNI Director of Institutional Relations Adi Sulistyowati in a written statement.
Adi Sulistyowati, who is familiarly called Susi, said that this mutual fund is managed by one of BNI's subsidiaries, namely BNI Asset Management (BNI-AM), hence the name ITB Harmoni BNI-AM Mutual Fund.
BNI-AM has collaborated with ITB for 1 year in managing the BNI-AM Harmoni ITB Mutual Fund. This BNI-AM Harmoni ITB Mutual Fund is a Fixed Income Mutual Fund issued to earn interest and principal value appreciation with a minimum underlying asset of 80% on debt securities issued in Indonesia and a maximum of 20% on Money Market instruments and/or Deposit.
How to purchase ITB Harmoni BNI-AM Mutual Funds is through BNI-AM Mutual Fund Selling Agents, both at securities companies, BNI Bank branches, and Online Selling Agents with prices starting at IDR 100,000 per unit.
For information, investors can find out the performance of this Mutual Fund, through the website of the Mutual Fund selling agents and the NAV (Net Asset Value) reports sent by the Custodian Bank regularly. Part of the return on investment will be allocated to develop the ITB Sustainable Fund.
"Currently, the composition of investors who invest in the ITB Harmoni BNI-AM Mutual Fund consists of the ITB alumni community and BNI-AM institutional investors. We hope that all students and all alumni and other ITB academics can invest in the progress of ITB because of the return on Mutual investment. These funds can be used for campus development, both for research, scholarships, development of campus facilities and infrastructure," said President Director of BNI Asset Management Reita Farianti.
Student Lounge at ITB
Along with this event, BNI also handed over assistance to ITB, namely the BNI Student Lounge. It is hoped that this can be a place of discussion for students.
"BNI renovated one area in the Faculty of Business and Management ITB into a BNI Student Lounge. This area can be used by millennials to interact and discuss. In this area with a capacity of up to 50 people, students can also access the latest information from the faculty including financial information," added Susie.
To support these millennials, BNI has prepared 4,250 TapCash Cards special edition BNI ITB Ultramarathon 2018 which can also be used by runners to make transactions, both during the Flag Off event at BNI Headquarters, the Finish event at the ITB Campus, and after the competition is over.

About the Competition
The BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2018 race took the Jakarta - Bandung route as far as 170 kilometers. This competition is not only run as a campaign for a healthy lifestyle but also as a means of expanding financial literacy. This competition is the second time held as a collaboration between BNI, ITB, and YSF.
The second BNI ITB Ultra Marathon received a very enthusiastic response from the public, both from the general public and from ITB alumni. There was a significant addition of participants compared to 2017. To date, there have been more than 2,000 participants in the Ultra Marathon and Festival categories. Meanwhile, registration for the 5K fun run category is still ongoing.
The BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 170 Kilometer activity was held to invite the general public to participate as participants and also become ultra-marathon enthusiasts, specifically to raise awareness and a sense of belonging to ITB alumni in their alma mater.
This BNI ITB Ultra Marathon has 3 categories of activities, namely Competition (with prizes), Festival, and Fun Run. The competition category is opened for ultra marathons that run more than 42 kilometers, while for the festival category it is a non-ultra marathon, namely relay runners 4 and so on.
Meanwhile, the Fun Run is a run with a distance of 5 Kilometers. For the competition category, there are 2 types of competitions, namely Solo 170K Men and Women and Relay 2x85K Men and Women. For the festival category, there are 3 types of events, namely Relay 4 x 25 K, Relay 8 x 21K, and Relay 16 x 10.7K
Meanwhile, Fun Run 5K was held to welcome the arrival of ultra-marathon runners and will take the starting position from Jalan Ir. Soekarno, heading to the ITB Campus, Jalan Ganesha 10, Bandung. (ega/dna)
