BNI Asset Management Eyes a 30 Percent Increase in Managed Funds

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — PT BNI Asset Management (BNI AM) is optimistic that it can boost its managed funds by 30 percent this year.

Based on data from the Financial Services Authority, as of the end of 2020, the net asset value (NAV) of BNI AM mutual funds was still one of the highest in the industry and grew 23.82 percent compared to the end of 2019, from Rp. 20.28 trillion to Rp. 25.11 trillion. .
BNI AM President Director Putut Endro said the realization that BNI AM printed was actually still below the initial target set by the company for 2020, which was only about 89 percent.
"But if we look at the conditions in 2020 which was hit by a pandemic, we are quite satisfied with this because BNI AM can still grow better than the mutual fund industry," he said to Bisnis, Tuesday (12/1/2021).
According to him, there were several factors that caused mutual funds to be depressed last year, one of the main ones was the stock market which experienced a deep correction in Quarta; I/2021, although it finally rebounded slowly, especially in the last quarter of 2020.
However, cumulatively, the annual performance of the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) still posted a performance of around -5 percent which affected the total NAV of BNI AM equity mutual fund products. He added that last year there was an increase in the number of Participation Units or subscriptions from the mixed asset products of the company's mutual funds.
As for 2021, Putut said BNI AM set a growth rate of 30 percent, by focusing on open end mutual fund products and alternative investment products.
In addition, the company will continue to improve services to our institutional and retail customers through the Mutual Fund Selling Agent (APERD) of banks and Fintech companies by providing the latest information on current market developments.
"So there are more choices for investors to invest, and can provide product diversification," he concluded.
