As of October 2019, BNI Asset Management's managed funds grew by IDR 6 trillion

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT BNI Asset Management (BNI AM) became the investment manager with the highest growth in assets under management (AUM) for the period until October 2019.

Based on data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), BNI AM's AUM from conventional mutual funds reached Rp 21.9 trillion or grew by Rp 6.27 trillion from the end of last year, amounting to Rp 15.2 trillion.

Reita Farianti President Director of BNI Asset Management said AUM growth came from direct sales to institutional investors, which accounted for 87 percent of total AUM, and sales to retail investors, which accounted for 13 percent of total AUM.

"Our mutual fund products that are in line with the needs of investors and a sense of being prudent and safe investing in BNI AM are also factors that attract investors," said Reita.

Currently, BNI AM is collaborating with 16 Mutual Fund Selling Agents (APRED) consisting of six securities companies, six fintech companies, and four banks.

"In the future, sales through banks will continue to be targeted while we seize opportunities for investor funds from fintech as the future growth of managed funds," said Reita.

When compared, investor funds that enter through banks and securities are indeed larger than fintech. However, Reita assessed that the acquisition of managed funds must be balanced from fintech. "Funds coming in through fintech are minimal but this is our future, in the future the funds managed from fintech will also roll in," said Reita.

BNI AM appreciates the acquisition of 15,000 new retail investor accounts from fintech Bibit within four months of the start of the collaboration. Meanwhile, the best-selling BNI AM mutual fund product at Bibit is the BNI AM IDX30 index mutual fund.

For your information, the total managed fund of retail investors reaches Rp 3 trillion. In terms of the number of investors or Number of Accounts (NOA), fintech controls the largest portion, which is 65%.
